More rain and showers, mostly in the west, then cooler at the weekend

An unsettled week with low pressure bringing rain and showers, most to the west. There will be better conditions briefly on Tuesday before more rain arrives mid-week, followed by heavy showers. The weekend may become cooler and drier although confidence is low in this at the present time.

Tuesday 7/11/23
Low pressure will be clearing into the North Sea on Tuesday. A few showers affecting eastern areas as a ridge of high pressure builds to the west. This will have the effect of easing the showers from the west bringing drier and brighter weather here. Some reasonable spells of sunshine developing through the day in western and southern areas. Highs at 9 to 12C.

Wednesday 8/11/23
A front passing east on Wednesday brings a band of rain to most areas of the country. This rain will be heavy and thundery at times and may well not clearing eastern areas until the evening. Brighter weather follows through Ireland in the morning with some heavy showers in the west, these reaching western Scotland by the afternoon. Drier and brighter in the afternoon for Wales and western England. Temperature rising to 13C in the south, but a cooler 8 to 10C in the north and west.

Thursday 9/11/23
Low pressure over Scotland on Thursday. Bands of heavy showers will be tracking east, some of them thundery and with hail. Squally winds within the showers and a risk of spells of more pronged rain as well as hail and thunder. Snow may affect the highest ground in Scotland. Highs at 6 to 11C.


 

Friday 10/11/23
A few showers on Friday with low pressure east of the country. Most of the showers will be in more northern and western areas with the south being drier and brighter. Highs at 8 to 12C.



 
 
 

Saturday 11/11/23
A ridge of high pressure may build for Saturday bringing the chance of some colder conditions. Morning fog patches and a risk of a frost. These clear to leave sunny spells. Highs at 6 to 10C.

Sunday 12/11/23
A more unsettled day on Sunday as rain arrives from the west. Periods of rain through Ireland and western oats of the country but drier in the north and east. Highs near 7 to 10C.
