Week ahead - November 15, 2023
An unsettled week
Milder weekend

Issued: 0900 Wednesday 15th November 2023
Duty forecaster: Filotas Paschos

Consecutive low pressure systems will bring a fair amount of rain and showers for most

Low pressure in the wider area will bring showers or longer spells of rain for the weekend with some snow on Scottish tops with some strong winds and locally gales. As high pressure will build in from the west on Monday and Tuesday showers will tend to ease off with lighter winds too. A strong westerly flow will be established on Wednesday and Thursday with frequent showers in north, but it will stay drier elsewhere. For the weather for the next few days click here

Saturday 18/11/23
A cloudy and windy morning for most with outbreaks of heavier rain, and snow on Scottish tops. Through the day most rain will clear with showers following, these squally across Northern Ireland and Western Scotland, with some snow on the tops. Gales for most exposed and coastal areas, with severe gales over Western Isles. A milder day with tops of 14C in south, but still cooler in north with tops of 7C.

Sunday 19/11/23
Low pressure system will be positioned in far north bridging a breezy, showery day with a cold feel, with some snow on northern tops. Best of the drier and brighter conditions in the south. Temperature at 9 C in north, and 12C in south.

Monday 20/11/23

Tuesday 21/11/23

Wednesday 22/11/23
A westerly flow develops with freshening winds, becoming strong across Scotland, where should expect occasional showers, these more frequent in west. Tops of 8 to 10C.

Thursday 23/11/23
A band of rain will push east through the morning, clearing soon but with squally showers following mainly in north. It will turn colder in the evening with wintry showers expected over higher ground in Scotland.
