Risk wetter for all midweek

A changeable westerly weather pattern prevails during the week ahead. Rain at times, focused in western areas near coasts and hills. A more organised area of rain may move across all areas by Wednesday-Thursday, followed by a lowering of temperature from the north.

Sunday 5/11/23
Low pressure over the North Sea brings fresh west to northwesterly winds across Britain and Ireland. Showery rain in the west, locally frequent near to western coasts of Wales. Remnants of previous rain should clear from eastern England. Often dry for many central parts of Britain with spells of sunshine and broken cloud, an odd brief shower possible. Feeling rather cool in the breeze. Highs 8 to 12C.

Monday 6/11/23
Low pressure north of Scotland on Monday bringing another showery day in western areas. The best of any sunshine and fewer showers in the east. Windy for all. Showers in the west could merge into longer periods of rain through Ireland and then into the west of England, Wales and Scotland. Highs at 8 to 11C.
 

Tuesday 7/11/23
Showery again for western areas on Tuesday with low pressure to the north. The showers could be heavy and prolonged at times. Fewer showers in the east and south. Breezy again in the south. Temperatures reaching 7 to 11C.

 
 
 

Wednesday 8/11/23
Uncertainty of detail as another weather system threatens to move in from the Atlantic. Possibly a dry start under a brief ridge of high pressure, then rain becomes widespread plus strong winds. Milder in the south. Highs 8 to 14C.

Thursday 9/11/23
Rain likely clears to leave a familiar mix of sunshine and showers. Rain most frequent near to western coasts. Drier and brighter for central and eastern areas. Brisk westerly winds likely. Highs 8 to 12C.

Friday 10/11/23
Possibly feeling cooler for all as winds turn toward the northwest. Some showers mostly near to coasts in the north and west. Sunny spells for central, south and eastern districts. Highs 7 to 11C.
