Rain and showers, strong winds at times with only a few drier days
An unsettled week with low pressure dominating. A jet stream is over and south of the country bringing rain and showers, some of this heavy at times. A few drier days.

Thursday 16/11/23 Rain passing through Scotland, Ireland and northern England on Thursday. Some rain too arriving in the west of Wales. Probably drier for central, southern and eastern England, sunny spells here as well. It may be that brighter skies arrive in Ireland later in the day too. Highs near 8 to 11C.
Friday 17/11/23 Rain for northwest Scotland on Friday. A ridge of high pressure building in other areas and this is likely to be bringing a drier day with some sunny spells. However, cloud and rain as well as strong winds may arrive in the south of Ireland and southwest England later in the afternoon. Highs near 8 to 10C.
Saturday 18/11/23 A deep area of low pressure west of Ireland on Saturday. This brings rain north through all pats of the country with the heaviest in Scotland. Elsewhere the rain turns to showers, especially in the west. Severe gales affecting many areas with wind gusts of over 50mph in exposed areas. Mild with temperatures at 10 to 15C.
Sunday 19/11/23 Low pressure crosses the north of the country on Saturday. Another windy day in England and Wales, rain in the north and west and a few showers in the east and south. Turning cooler in Scotland with some sleet on the highest ground and sunny spells. Highs at 5 to 10C.
Monday 20/11/23 The area of low pressure is in the North Sea on Monday. This brings a colder, northerly wind. Some rain in the east but overall brighter for many. A threat of some showers in northern and eastern Scotland, these could be wintry. Showers too over western coasts and hills. Highs at 6 to 9C.
Tuesday 21/11/23 Dry for much of England and Wales. Rain in western Scotland, spreading east during the day. Highs at 7 to 11C.
