Westerly weather patterns will prevail into the new week, although higher pressure toward the southwest will give some drier days in the southern half of Britain and Ireland. Wettest conditions typically toward the northwest. Fairly mild but occasional frosts on clearer nights.

Sunday 19/11/23 Low pressure centred north of Scotland drives westerly winds across Britain and Ireland. Frequent or persistent rain for western regions, heaviest over southwest Scotland and northwest England. Showery toward the southwest. Occasional rain into the Midlands, but east and southeast England likely often dry with variable cloud. Breezy for most places, but lighter winds for northern Scotland, often dry here too. Highs 9 to 13C, mildest southeast.
Monday 20/11/23 Low pressure drifts to the east. Northwesterly breezes bring showery rain, focused over western regions, locally more persistent rain for Wales and Northern Ireland. Scattered showers elsewhere with some brighter spells toward the northeast of England. Southern coastal counties also often dry and bright. Highs 8 to 12C.
Tuesday 21/11/23 A ridge of high pressure builds briefly from the west. Local brief showers close to coasts in the east, one or two showers for Wales in the morning too. Otherwise fine and dry with sunny spells. Some frost and mist patches in sheltered spots in the morning. Fairly light winds, but a fresh northerly for East Anglia. Highs 7 to 11C.
Wednesday 22/11/23 Fronts pass across northern Scotland whilst pressure stays high to the southwest of Britain. Much of England, Wales and southern Ireland stay dry with variable cloud and sunshine. Some early mist in the south. Breezy in the north. Cloudy in the northwest with rain or drizzle much of the day for western Scotland. Highs 9 to 12C.
Thursday 23/11/23 Westerly winds prevail, breezy in the south, windy in the north. Mostly dry for the south and east with a little sun. Frequent rain in the northwest, heaviest northwest Scotland. Turning colder for Scotland, but mild in south. Highs 7 to 13C.
Friday 24/11/23 Brisk northwesterly winds usher in chillier air. A cold front passes southeast with rain for a time. Showery in the west and northwest, heavy bursts with hail and hill snow. Sunny spells central and southern England. Highs 6 to 10C.
