Staying unsettled with more rain and cloud, varying temperatures and only a few brighter days

Unsettled again through this week with low pressure remaining in control of the weather. This brings heavy periods of rain at times. One or two drier, brighter days. Feeling milder in the southern half of the country on some days, but by contrast colder in northern areas overall.

Thursday 4/4/24
Another unsettled and cold day with low pressure southwest of Ireland. Thi pushes fronts northeast through Ireland, England and Wales bringing spells of rain with them. and plenty of cloud too. Breezy in southern areas of the country. Further rain in northern and eastern Scotland. Plenty of cloud and initially drier in northern England and Northern Ireland but outbreaks of rain arriving here as the rain becomes heavier again in the south by evening. Gales in southern areas later. A cold day with highs at 5 to 7C but 12C in the far south of England.


Friday 5/3/24
A better day for most on Friday. Low pressure clears east. Sunshine and showers for many, most of the showers west and south where some could be heavy. Scotland stays cool with some showers around coasts. Showers too in northern and western Ireland. Highs at 15C in England, Wales and Ireland, but still cold in Scotland at 4 to 7C.


 


Saturday 6/4/24
Back to the unsettled conditions for Saturday as low pressure settled west of Ireland. Strong winds, cloud and rain wil be a feature of the weather, mostly in Ireland, Wales and Scotland. Probably brighter, drier and warmer in central, eastern and southern England. Gales north and west. Highs of 10 to 16C.


 


Sunday 7/4/24
Low pressure north of Scotland on Sunday bringing showers and strong winds to northern and western Scotland, drier in the east. Brighter and drier in other areas, some good spells of sunshine in the east. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 15C in southern England.


 


Monday 8/4/24
Low pressure south of Ireland on Monday. Rain and cloud in much of Ireland and the far west of Wales and southwest England. Elsewhere it should be brighter with sunny spells and drier weather. Highs at 11 to 15C.

Tuesday 9/4/24
More unsettled again with low pressure south of the country. Wet over much of England, Wales and Ireland. Drier and colder in Scotland. Brighter west but cloud in eastern Scotland. Breezy in northern areas too. Highs at 8 to 14C.
