Staying mixed with rain and showers, some windy days, varying temperatures

The mixed weather continues through this week. Low pressure brings thundery bursts of rain and a wide range of temperatures on each day =depending on wind direction and how much rain there is. It may become breezy at times too, especially in the east.

Friday 3/5/24
Some showers afecting eastern England and Scotland this morning, some of them heavy and thundery. The showers continue into this afternoon. Cloudier skies in southern areas of England and Wales as well as southern Ireland were there will be some spells of rain too. Other parts may be brighter with sunny spells, the best sunshine in the west of Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland. Highs at 11C on eastern coats, around 14 to 17C for sunnier areas.

Saturday 4/5/24
Low pressure may be bringing some thundery rain to parts of Ireland, Wales, southern and southwest England on Saturday. Brighter and drier north and east, although even here there may be showers developing. Low confidence in the forecast. Highs at 12 to 16C.


 

Sunday 5/5/24
Generally a fair morning with some bright or sunny spells on Sunday. Some showers developing in eastern areas, some of them heavy and thundery. Rain in the afternoon for southern Ireland, southern and southwest England. Highs at 12 to 15C.



 
 
 

Monday 6/5/24
Low pressure remains over much of the British Isles on Monday, centred over Ireland. This brings periods of rain and showers, some of them heavy at times. Most rain in southern and eastern areas. Western parts should become brighter. Highs at 14 to 18C overall.


 

Tuesday 7/5/24
Low pressure bringing more periods of rain across most of the country on Tuesday. This passes from west to east and is then followed by showers. The showers could be heavy. Probably drier and brighter in the south. Highs at 12 to 18C.

Wednesday 08/5/24
Low pressure off northeast Scotland on Wednesday with a westerly flow affecting most areas. Showers, some heavy in the north and west. Brighter in the east and south although even here there could be an isolated shower. Highs at 12 to 16C.
