Severe gales in Scotland, heavy rain here too, drier further south
Heavy rain to start today in the northern half of grandson today, a risk of flooding here. Elsewhere lots of cloud, with a moist southwest flow giving some drizzle over western coasts and hills. Elsewhere it should be dry and rather breezy and mild.
Further heavy rain in northwest Scotland this afternoon bringing a further risk of flooding. Drier in the far east and south of Scotland, staying cloudy. Drizzle again affecting western Wales and western England. Drier for other areas with lots of cloud. A few bright spells in central and eastern areas.
This evening and overnight sees some colder air reaching northern Scotland. Other areas are mostly dry, but some drizzle in the far west.
