A few showers in west.

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 16th February 2024
Duty forecaster: Filotas Paschos

It will be a mostly dry and bright day. Best of brightness in east.

Any remaining rain over Southeast England will clear away through the morning. As high pressure generally extends over the British Isles, it will be a much brighter and drier day than of later for most areas. A few showers possible in the morning especially over Ireland, Wales, western Scotland and northwest England, but clearing soon. It will be breezy in south, but light winds in north. Afternoon temperatures at 9C in north, but 12C in south. Some patchy frost over Northeast Scotland will develop overnight.

A few showers over western parts of Ireland and Scotland, otherwise the evening and night will be dry with clear spells. This associated with light winds over Northeast Scotland will lead to patchy frost later in the night. Temperatures dropping to 5-6C across most parts, but touching zero over parts of Aberdeenshire and Moray.
