Alexi: Good morning and happy Sunday. It is another mostly dry day ahead with some good sunshine about. Watch out for any morning mist and fog patches, these should burn off in the sun as the day progresses.

Alexi: A largely quiet night ahead with dry conditions. A touch of frost for some locations again tonight. Mist and fog developing too. First day of spring tomorrow!

Alexi: A mainly dry night ahead, although some possible drizzle for far western areas of Ireland and Scotland under thicker cloud here. Largely clear skies and light winds elsewhere allowing for a slight frost in places. Mist and fog patches too will form for some.

Alexi: We welcome this high pressure and this weekend should be a good one for sunshine for many. Today will see more cloud further north, however, with the risk of some light patchy rain.

Alexi: Generally sunny and dry conditions out there this afternoon. Staying dry through the rest of the day but cloud lingering more across northern and western areas. Temperatures reaching to 14C in Aboyne, NE Scotland.

Claire: Any early mist and fog patches clear to leave a dry and fine day for most. Feeling warm in the sun. Cloudier further north with some patchy light rain and isolated showers for northern parts of Scotland.

Claire: Under clearer skies over the southern half of England and Wales tonight we could see temperatures dropping low enough for a patchy frost to form. Mist and fog patches likely to form here too.

Claire: Plenty more sunshine to come this afternoon away from the northwest.

Simon: More sunshine to come through this afternoon for many. Cloudier skies in East Anglia and southeast England should brighten up too. A few showers remain in western Scotland, but dry for most.

Simon: Some cloud and even a few spots of rain in the far southeast this morning, but this will be clearing. Becoming brighter in the north and west, some good sunny spells. Rain or showers on and off in western Scotland, windy here too.

Claire: Patchy outbreaks of rain affect parts of England and Wales today. To the northwest, it's a bright and breezy day with blustery showers for parts of Scotland and Ireland while to the southeast it's mostly dry with some cloud. A mild day across the board, very mild to the southeast.

Claire: A windy one last night for northwestern areas with gusts of 60mph recorded at Stornoway. Widespread windy conditions are expected through the first part of this week but the strongest winds gradually become confined to northwestern and northern parts of Scotland later.

Claire: Staying mild this week across the UK and Ireland, even feeling warm at times. Parts of the southeast England could see temperatures reach 16C!

Claire: Rain will continue to spread north this afternoon though eastern parts of England will stay largely dry. It will clear east from Ireland this afternoon allowing for some late sunshine here. Staying breezy throughout.

Claire: It's a generally wet and windy day for northern and western areas though the northwest of Scotland will be drier for a time with blustery showers. Very wet for south Wales. Southern and eastern areas are drier with some southeastern parts of England staying completely dry.

Simon: Heavy bursts of showery rain crossing northern and eastern parts of Ireland now, approaching northwest Wales and southwest Scotland.

Simon: A windy night ahead in western areas. Gusts of over 60mph affecting western Ireland and western Scotland. It will be mild for all.

Simon: It's a much milder start to the week. Some fog and rain in central, southern and eastern areas at first but this clears east and most places becoming drier. An area of showery rain in southwest Ireland. moving northeast and into west and north Wales as well as southwest Scotland late morning.

Claire: A windy day today with outbreaks of rain for many. Feeling very cold in the wind. Brightening from the west later with milder air arriving here.

Claire: A much milder air mass is making its way into Ireland & the southwest UK with temperatures widely in the double digits across the Republic of Ireland this morning.

Claire: Strong winds taking the edge off these temperatures with coastal gales across the region. Peak gusts recorded across the British Isles so far include: 68mph at St Bees Head, 67mph at Mace Head, 66mph on Tiree, 58mph at Vally and 57mph at Ballypatrick.

Claire: Rain clears east from most areas tonight, with the exception of southeast England, and winds tend to ease too for many. Showers follow for western Ireland. Winds stay strong to the far northwest and southeast where we could see gusts of up to 55mph through the wee hours.

Alexi: It's the last night of widely below freezing temperatures for the foreseeable future! The band of snow pushing east will gradually fizzle out by midnight. The next bout of rain, however, will move into far western areas by early morning.

Alexi: Band of snow breaking up now as it tracks further east. Not really much left on it pushes further across Scotland and into England. The wind chill will be a factor out there this afternoon though....keep warm!

Alexi: Good morning, a band of snow followed by rain is pushing eastwards today across mainly western and northern parts of the UK. Staying largely dry but cloudy further south and southeast. Still feeling very cold and a tad colder today with the wind chill added in.

Alexi: That milder air is creeping closer but much of the UK was well below freezing last night still. Today, expect mainly dry conditions but perhaps more in the way of cloud about compared with yesterday. Snow showers still affecting some eastern areas.

Alexi: Snow showers pushing in to eastern coasts more now but further west across the UK it is looking really nice with plenty of blue sky about. More in the way of cloud for Ireland and this will do so more tomorrow as a front moves through.

Alexi: Well, it has turned out to be a rather nice day for much of the UK today with clear, blue skies for many...cold still though. Hang on just a bit longer for that milder air. Tonight, winds will strengthen but it should stay largely dry. Snow to the far west by dawn.

Claire: Staying cold but it's a dry and fair day for many today - some snow showers still to the east. Cloud thickens from the southwest bringing rain, sleet and snow into Ireland and the far southwest of the UK.

Claire: Temperatures are struggling over Scotland today with some areas still in the negative double digits. These areas likely to see highs of only -6 or -5C this afternoon. A cold day across the country.

Claire: Slightly milder into the southwest of the British Isles tonight with temperatures staying above freezing under the cloud here. Some very strong winds too for Ireland and the southwest UK with coastal gales and gusts up to 50mph.

Simon: Staying cold through this afternoon. Further snow showers in the east. Mostly fair with sunny spells in central and western areas.

Simon: It's not often that we see maximum temperatures in the UK not rising above freezing, but that's the story for today. More snow showers in the east, some of them heavy and breezy here too. Brighter and drier in the west.

Alexi: People in East Anglia and the southeast corner are waking up to falling snow. Expect this to continue throughout the day today. Bitterly cold elsewhere with snow showers mainly affecting eastern areas of the UK.

Alexi: Snow continues to flow into the far southeast this evening and overnight. Snow showers will also pursue easternmost regions. Drier further west.

Claire: Further snow for eastern parts of Scotland today while an area of rain affects northern and eastern parts of England. As cold air sinks slowly south, this rain increasingly turns to sleet and snow, initially over higher ground but then to lower levels, over eastern England.

Claire: An area of rain, sleet and snow clears south from central England this evening while wintry showers continue to blow into eastern parts of northern England and Scotland. An area of more persistent and heavier snow moves in over East Anglia and the south east of England accompanied by some strong winds.

Claire: Cold air is spreading south across northern parts of England. This is where we'll increasingly see rain turning to sleet and snow this afternoon and this evening.

Claire: Further snow to come overnight for eastern and northern parts of Scotland. Some likely to fall over hilltops in northern England and north Wales too. Elsewhere outbreaks of rain for Northern Ireland as well as northern and eastern parts of England tonight. Scattered showers around Irish Sea coasts too.

Claire: Prolonged and heavy falls of snow today for parts of northeastern Scotland. Snow spreads to southeastern parts of Scotland and northeast England later. Outbreaks of rain for western Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern parts of England. Further south a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers for much of England, Ireland and Wales.

Claire: Snow continues to pile up in parts of northeastern Scotland. Very dangerous conditions developing here.

Alexi: Rain, sleet and snow continue across much of Scotland overnight. Patchy rain further south will become confined to easternmost areas allowing for southern areas to become mostly dry but with showers down western coasts.

Alexi: Any snow across southern Scotland will gradually turn to rain through the afternoon. Snow continuing however further north. Meanwhile, rain will continue to spread north-eastwards across England and Wales.

The northern half of the country will continue to get hit by rain, sleet and snow today. Southern and south-eastern parts of England will also see rain as a fast moving system runs across the country.

Simon: Colder hit on it's way for next week, could be the coldest period of winter so far.
