Mainly dry and very cold, snow in Ireland
It's another cold day ahead for all. There will be some sunny spells, the best of them through eastern areas, as well as a widespread frost. Increasing cloud in Wales, western England and Ireland this morning, the winds reaching gale force in Ireland as some snow and sleet move into the far west. Drier elsewhere.
This afternoon sees little change again with sleet and snow falling in the south and southwest of Ireland. There could be some sleet in the Isles of Scilly too. A few snow showers may trouble eastern Scotland. Mostly fair elsewhere, although winds continuing strong in the west. Feeling very cold for all.
Tonight sees further snow showers in eastern Scotland. Sleet and snow fade from Ireland, although the south of Ireland and the far southwest of England tend to remain drizzle and with low cloud. Dry with a widespread frost elsewhere.
