Isolated showers north & west

High pressure brings another mostly dry and fine day to the UK and Ireland. A weak front sinks south through the day bringing an area of thicker cloud and perhaps the odd light shower to parts of Scotland and Ireland. Feeling pleasant in the sun with light winds.

Good Morning,

A patchy frost is possible through the Midlands, south England and Wales this morning where skies have been clear overnight. It will be bright to start however across much of England and Wales where any early mist and fog patches should quickly clear. A cloudier start for Ireland and Scotland as a weak front lies across the region. Light patchy rain is possible over western parts of Scotland but this should also clear quickly through the morning while isolated showers are possible for western and northern parts of Ireland.

As the aforementioned front sinks south into northern England during the afternoon it continues to weaken but will still bring some thicker cloud here for a time. Isolated showers remain a possibility over western parts of Ireland. Remaining cloudy for Ireland during the afternoon while most other areas will see good long spells of sunshine develop. With light winds it will feel quite pleasant for the time of year.

Cloud continues to sink south over England during the evening making its way across the Midlands. Brighter conditions follow to the north before nightfall. Most areas stay dry with mostly clear skies into Saturday evening though it remains cloudier over Ireland where the threat of isolated showers persists.

Have a good day!

Claire
