Morning Call - February 07, 2021
Snow east
Feeling cold

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 7th February 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A cold day across the UK and Ireland with wintry showers affecting eastern coasts and hills throughout the day. An area of heavier, more persistent snow affects East Anglia and the southeast of England. This will be accompanied by some very strong winds and coastal gales making conditions very tricky here. Good spells of sunshine developing elsewhere with the best of the sun to the west.

Good Morning,

Wintry showers feed into eastern parts of Scotland and the northeast of England while, further south, a more persistent area of snowfall continues to affect parts of East Anglia and the southeast throughout the morning. This will be accompanied by some very strong winds. Rather cloudy for Ireland with wintry showers affecting eastern coasts here. The best of the morning's sun will be over western Scotland, Wales and the northwest of England.

Very little change into Sunday afternoon though snowfall to the southeast should become lighter. Winds stay strong here with coastal gales. Elsewhere wintry showers continue to feed into eastern parts of Scotland, Ireland and the north of England. Becoming brighter over Ireland with good spells of afternoon sunshine widely developing.

Snow continues to fade to the southeast into Sunday evening but widespread wintry showers continue over eastern coasts and hills across the British Isles. Cloud thickens over southwest Ireland and into the far southwest of the UK. Elsewhere there will be plenty of clear skies.

Wrap up warm!

Claire
