Persistent showers across Scotland, and a belt of rain spreading from the southwest A centre of low pressure to the southwest of the UK brings largely unsettled conditions today. Persistent rain and drizzle across Scotland, particularly in eastern regions and along the Central Belt. A drier start elsewhere, cloudier in the north and some sunny spells in central and southern regions. A few showers along western coasts.

In the afternoon, persistent rain continues over eastern Scotland and the Central Belt, turning heavier in the afternoon, and spreading to western regions. Patchy showers in some northern counties, in southern Wales, and Southern Ireland. Patchy cloud with some sunny spells elsewhere. Rain across southwest England, which turns heavy at times and spreads eastwards as the day progresses, also reaching Wales. Rain too across southern Ireland, and reaching central regions. Feeling mild in the south, chillier in the north.

In the evening, the rain reaches Northern Ireland and central England. Scotland remains wet. Northern England stays largely dry and cloudy into early evening, but will be wet overnight. The wind picks up in the south and across Scotland too, giving a much cooler feel to the temperatures.
