Cool and mixed at first but then improving later in the week

A mixed week ahead as low pressure brings outbreaks of rain and showers. Temperatures probably lifting slightly after a cool start. There are indications of conditions becoming drier later in the week as higher pressure builds.

Tuesday 30/4/24
Low pressure slips over Ireland on Tuesday. Rain in western Scotland, western Wales and southwest England. A further area of showery rain drifting through eastern England. Drier in-between these areas with some sunny spells. Bright in the rest of Scotland with sunny spells too, although some showers in the east. Highs at a mild 18C in the east, 11C in the west.

Wednesday 1/5/24
Low pressure southwest of Ireland on Wednesday. A front over southern Ireland and southern England bringing cloud and outbreaks of rain over southern areas. More cloud and some drizzle in eastern areas of the country. Drier and brighter in western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 12C in wales and southwest England, 14C in Ireland and 19C in eastern England.

Thursday 2/5/24
Pressure stays low over the British Isles on Thursday. A mixed day, some rain in places, most likely in Northern Ireland, northern England and southern Scotland. Showers in more southern ares of the country. Highs at 15 to 19C.

A more easterly flow on Friday with some outbreaks of rain passing from east to west. Probably becoming brighter and drier in the east as the day progresses. Tops at 12 to 15C.



 
 
 

Saturday 4/5/24
A brighter day is likelyon Saturday. A northeast wind bringing sunny spells and mostly dry conditions. Best sunshine in western areas. Highs at 12 to 16C.

Sunday 5/5/24
Bright again on Saturday with good spells of sunshine. Dry for many. A risk of some showers in Wales and southwest England. Cloudier northwest Scotland and Northern Ireland with patchy rain. Tops at 14 to 19C.
