Unsettled as a string of low pressure systems impact the British Isles

We're in for a rather unsettled spell of weather as a stream of Atlantic low pressure systems impact the British Isles over the coming days. It will be wet and windy everywhere with winds reaching near gale to gale force for some coastal areas and islands. Temperatures will be much milder though as we comes under the influence of a generally westerly airflow.

For the weather for the next few days click here

Thursday 29/11/18
Low pressure is centred to the west of northern Scotland on Thursday bringing a cloudy start for most though the cloud may break from the west later in the day bringing sunny spells to Ireland, Wales, southwestern Scotland and much of England. The heaviest rain will be across Wales and northwestern England. Staying breezy with near gale force winds still possible for the Western and Northern Isles and the south coast of England. Highs at 7 to 14C.

Friday 30/11/18
Low pressure remaining to the north on Friday. Cloudy for most to start the day but some good sunny spells should develop across the southern half of the country. Some rain for Ireland and Scotland though this should clear by the early afternoon. Some drizzle may linger along western coasts. Near gale to gale force winds possible for coastal areas around the Irish Sea and over higher ground in the north of England. Turning cooler with highs at 6 to 11C.

Saturday 01/12/18
A ridge of high pressure tries to build from the south on Saturday but it will be quickly pushed out of the way by another low pressure system. This will lead to an early frost and a dry and bright start for eastern areas. Cloud will increase from the west however through the late morning and into the afternoon which will bring rain and increasing winds to most areas by the evening. High temperatures of 5 to 12C.

Sunday 02/12/18
Low pressure near Iceland extends a front across the British Isles leading to a cloudy, wet and windy morning for most. This should clear quickly however to leave a dry afternoon with some good bright spells developing. Temperatures feeling mild at 8 to 14C.

Monday 03/12/18
Low pressure stays to the north of the British Isles on Monday. It will be a cloudy and wet start to the day for most though this should clear quickly to leave a bright day with sunny spells and scattered showers. Windy along northwestern coasts. Feeling mild again with highs of 6 to 12C.

Tuesday 04/12/18
High pressure start to build from the south bringing a more settled day on Tuesday. It should be a largely bright and dry day for most though southeastern coastal areas could see some drizzle. Feeling slightly cooler with highs of 5 to 10C.
