Claire: Cloud cover is already thickening over much of Ireland as a band of very heavy rain is pushing over Counties Kerry and Cork. This system will continue to edge eastward through this evening and overnight covering most of Ireland by Tuesday morning's rush hour.

Claire: Showery rain for eastern areas of Scotland and England into this afternoon and radar is just starting to pick up the leading edge of a low pressure system from the Atlantic to the southwest of Ireland.
