Cooler east, a milder and wetter west


New Years Eve
Rain affects northwest Spain again to end the year. There could be some rain in the far southwest of Spain too, with the front bringing some cloud to eastern coasts. Fine through Italy with sunny spells here. Showers affecting eastern and southern Greece, these turning wintry in the north. Wintry showers for Turkey as well, again most in the north.
Sunny spells and mostly dry for central France, but some showery rain in the west later. Rain passing through the Low Countries and becoming brighter during the day, the rain then into western Germany. Eastern Germany will be cooler and dry, with Polen turning colder but staying dry. Chilly weather for Hungary and Austria, some rain in western Switzerland.
A breezy day in Denmark and Norway with rain moving in from the west. Fine for Sweden although feeling cooler. The Baltic States and Finland will be cooler as well, and should be mostly dry.


New Years Day
Cloud and periods of rain affecting Portugal and the far northwest of Spain to start 2016. Some patchy rain in the far south of Spain too, but fair elsewhere. The Balearics will be dry with sunny spells. More sunshine to come in Italy. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain for Greece, but cold and dry in Turkey.
Cloud and some patchy drizzle in western France, but fair with sunny spells elsewhere. Cool for the Low Countries and Germany. Some cloud and patchy snow in Poland. Austria, Hungary and Switzerland will be dry and cooler.
Cloud and some sleet or snow for Denmark. Dry and cold for the baltic States and remaining cool in Finland too. Cloud and the risk of some light snow over Sweden. Rain affecting western coasts of Norway and milder here too.
