Another cold day ahead with a brisk easterly wind adding to the wind chill. A few bright spells with the best of them always across western Scotland, Northwest England and western parts of Wales. Highs at 0 to 2C and staying below freezing where snow has already fallen.

Another widespread and severe frost to start Thursday morning. There will be a subtle change of pressure pattern on Thursday with low pressure to the west of Ireland and high-pressure east of England. This increases wins across Ireland and the far west of the UK. There will be an area of cloud, rain, sleet and snow moving into Ireland during the day, bringing some snow flurries to the far west of Wales later. For other areas it should be a bright start to the day with plenty of sunshine. However cloud will tend to increase through the day and the winds will increase too. A very cold day, the wind making it feel even colder with highs at 1 to 3C.
