Many places dry with warm sunshine and variable high cloud. Some patchy rain for eastern Scotland in the morning, drizzle along western Scottish coast. Afternoon more widespread and frequent showers in Scotland. Risk of fog along eastern coasts of England and Scotland. Dry start in Ireland, but in the afternoon widely rain moving in from the west. Light and variable winds, sea breezes. Highs 24 to 27C for the Midlands and Home Counties, 19 to 23C in Wales and northern England, 15 to 20C in Scotland and 16 to 22C in Ireland.


Wednesday Night
More persistent rain in western Scotland, possibly reaching into central Scotland. Risk of showers in the Northwest, in Wales and in Ireland, particularly western Ireland toward the dawn. Dry in the south. Clear spells in England, particularly in the southeast - here clear sky all night. Lows at 13 to 17C.
 


Thursday
A cold front moving in from the west. Low pressure over the Atlantic pushes rain and showers into the west of Britain and everywhere in Ireland. Central and southeastern England dry and warm. Brief showers in eastern Scotland in the morning, later dry there. Strong southwesterly breezes in the west. Highs 18 to 26C in England, 14 to 17 in Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
 


Friday
Feeling fresher for all with a westerly breeze. Dry and often sunny for southern and central England. Dry with sunny spells also for southern Wales. Occasional showers in northern Wales and northern England, most likely in the morning. Showery, breezy and gusty for western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Few wet spots western Ireland, dry in central and southeastern Ireland. Highs 14 to 21C, warmest south.
