Staying very warm into midweek

Good morning,

Most of England and Wales will be dry today with warm sunshine and variable high cloud.

A weak front toward the northwest brings cloudier skies for Scotland and Ireland, some patchy light rain in places.

A risk of local heavier bursts of rain for the east and northeast of Scotland by the afternoon, also local showery bursts for the Borders area.

Today's top temperatures 23 to 28C, warmest central and eastern England. Around 18 to 21C further toward the west and north.
