A ridge of high pressure extends in from the southwest, whilst a warm front moves into western Scotland from the west. Many central and southern areas dry with variable cloud and sun. Drizzly showers for western Scotland, rain more persistent here later in the day. Occasional drizzle for northwest England and Northern Ireland. Highs 14 to 17C north and west, 18 to 21C central and southern areas.


Tuesday night
Increasingly wet for northwest England and Northern Ireland. Rain persistent and at times heavy for western Scotland, smaller amounts east of the hills. Rain and drizzle moving across southern parts of Ireland. Patchy rain also moving over northern England and the Midlands, least rain toward the east and far south of England. Cloudy skies for all. Fresh west to southwest breezes. Lows 7 to 11C.


Wednesday
Fronts sweeping across the British Isles bring outbreaks of rain, most persistent toward the northwest, heaviest falls of rain for western Scotland. Showery conditions follow later. Small amounts of patchy rain for central and southern England, largely cloudy, a little sun may break through occasionally toward the east. Fresh westerly winds for all. Highs 15 to 20C.
 


Thursday
Cool and showery west to northwesterly winds. Rain most frequent in western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Showery rain on and off for northwest England and Wales. Drier for the Midlands, south and east of England, brief passing showers. Sunny spells toward the south. Fresh breezes continue. Feeling unpleasantly cool especially in northwestern regions. Highs 14 to 19C.
