A mixed week, strong winds and heavy showers in northern and western Scotland, drier to the south

A cool week in the north of the country with strong winds at times. Heavy showers here, most in the north and west where they could merge to longer spells of rain. Drier in the south with sunny spells and fewer showers, most in the west.

Thursday 6/6/24
Low pressure stays to the north of Scotland on Thursday. Further showers for Scotland, some of the showers heavy in the north and west where they could merge to longer periods of rain at times. Scattered showers in Northern Ireland and further showers in northwest England too. Brighter and drier for the rest of England and Wales as well as the southern half of Ireland. Decent spells of sunshine in these areas. Staying windy in northern Scotland. Highs at 11C in northern Scotland, 18C in southern England, 14 to 16C in western areas and feeling cool.

Friday 7/6/24
Low pressure northwest of Scotland on Friday. Windy in Scotland, gales in the north and west with frequent, heavy showers and longer spells of rain. Brighter and drier in the east. Showers in northwest England and the north and west of Wales and Ireland. Brighter and drier in eastern and southern areas with sunny spells. Tops near 19C in the southeast, 9C in parts of western Scotland, 15C in Ireland and feeling cold in the wind.

Saturday 8/6/24
The area of low pressure is just northeast of Scotland on Saturday. Showers across much of Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as northwest England. A few showers too in north Wales. Other areas tending to be bright and dry with sunny spells although an isolated shower canot be ruled out. Highs at 10 to 18C and feeling cold in the wind in the north.


 

Sunday 9/6/24
Showers again in Scotland and Northern Ireland on Sunday as low pressure remains close by. A few showers in northern England and Wales too. Elsewhere it should be dry and bright with sunny spells. Highs near 12 to 18C north to south.

Showers again across Ireland and western parts of the British Isles on Monday. Drier and brighter in the east with sunny spells. Highs at 12 to 18C.

Tuesday 11/6/24
A ridge of high pressure building from the west on Tuesday bringing brighter conditions and fewer showers. Further showers in the north and east, some of them heavy. Highs at 12 to 19C.
