Blustery, strong winds with rain and showers Tuesday into Wednesday. Turning calmer later.

A wet and windy start to the week, more so further north, then high pressure settles the weather down later in the week while cooling temperatures off too. The dry and sunny weather for many sticks around into the following week with temperatures rising again.

Thursday 4/8/22
Still rather blustery and showery across northern and western areas of Scotland with even some eastern regions here seeing a few scattered showers. Northern Ireland and northwest Ireland will also see sunny spells and showers. Feeling cool here too. Elsewhere will be dry and fine with sunshine. Highs at 27C in southeast England, 14C in northern Scotland.
 

Friday 5/8/22
A ridge of high pressure building through much of the UK and Ireland on Friday. There will be some showers in northern and western Scotland, a few affecting the west coast of Ireland too. For all other areas it should be dry with sunny spells, the best in the east and south. Highs at 17 to 25C.

Saturday 6/8/22
High pressure remains over most areas on Saturday and is likely to be centred just west of Ireland. It should be a fair day with good spells of sunshine for many. Some patchy rain and cloud affecting northern and northwestern areas of Scotland. Highs around 25C in the south, 16C in northern Scotland.

Sunday 7/8/22
High pressure centred over Ireland on Sunday. It is likely to be fair with broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells. Some cloud and patchy rain affecting the far north of Scotland. Highs north to south at 17 to 24C.

Monday 8/8/22
Pressure stays high on Monday giving a dry and fair day for most. Always more cloud with strengthening winds across the northwest of Scotland. Highs at 18 to 26C.

Tuesday 9/8/22
High pressure remains dominant on Tuesday with dry and sunny weather for many, though thicker cloud with some patchy rain will affect north and west Scotland as well as western coasts of Ireland. Highs at a warmer 21C in the north and 28C in the south.
