Rain and showers north and west, drier and very warm in the south, turning drier for all later
Mixed conditions to start this week with low pressure bringing showers and some rain. Most of these will be across northern and western areas, the east and south seeing very little precipitation. Very warm days in southern and eastern areas of England. Tending to turn drier for al later in the week, although always a few showers in the far northwest.

A brisk northwesterly wind across the north on Wednesday will see blustery showers affect northern and western regions through Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern parts of England and Wales. A weak front across southern and southeastern counties will bring cloud and patchy light rain here for a time, although this should fade. Cool north and west at 16 to 18C, but warmer to the south and east with highs at 23 to 28C.
A northwesterly wind on Thursday will continue to bring showers to northern and western coasts and hills and where exposed will feel chilly. Elsewhere, dry and fine with a good deal of sunshine about, although perhaps more cloud in the far south. Highs mostly at 17 to 24C, warmest across southeast England.
A ridge of high pressure building through much of the UK and Ireland on Friday. There will be some showers in northern and western Scotland, a few affecting the west coast of Ireland too. For all other areas it should be dry with sunny spells, the best in the east and south. Highs at 25C in southeast England, 14C in northern Scotland.
High pressure remains over most areas on Saturday and is likely to be centred just west of Ireland. It should be a fair day with good spells of sunshine for many. Some patchy rain and cloud affecting northern and northwestern areas of Scotland. Highs around 27C in the south, 16C in northern Scotland.
High pressure centred over Ireland on Sunday. It is likely to be fair with broken cloud and some bright or sunny spells. Some cloud and patchy rain affecting the far north of Scotland. Highs north to south at 18 to 27C.
Pressure stays high on Monday. A risk of some cloud and outbreaks of rai affecting eastern areas of England, but staying fine in the west and across most of Scotland. Ireland should be fair too. Sunniest in western and northern areas. Highs at 28C in southern England, 19C in eastern areas and 22 to 24C in the west.
