Rain central areas
Dry north

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 8th April 2019
Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson

Mild south & west, cool northeast

Good morning,

High pressure lies to the north of Britain today, whilst low pressure is around Biscay, maintaining an easterly pattern across the country.

A slow-moving front sits across central England & Wales, whilst a further weak front is to the south-west. Rain on and off, with heavier bursts locally. A chance of showers breaking out for the north Midlands and Peak District.

Dry overall for northern England and Scotland, with cloud breaking to give some sunshine, best in western parts of Scotland. A little rain possible for Northern Ireland, but mainly dry.

Today's top temperatures will reach 12 to 15C, perhaps warmer in sunny spots. Only 8 to 10C in the northeast.

Have a great day.
Garry
