Morning Call - April 16, 2019
Rain & showers in the west
Dry but dull in the east

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 16th April 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A front will bring rain and showers to western areas through the day, remaining dry but cloudy in the east

Good morning,

A cool start to the day across the UK and Ireland and rather wet for Northern Ireland, northeastern Ireland, western Wales and southwest England as a weather front brings cloud, rain and drizzle. A brighter start to the day for the southwest of Ireland and the Northern Isles.

Through the morning the front will edge eastward bringing rain into eastern parts of Wales, western Scotland and the northwest of England. As the day develops the rain will become lighter and more showery in nature. Dry and bright conditions will spread northeastward across Ireland as the front moves away while it will remain rather cloudy for much of the UK. High temperatures reaching just 8 or 9C in eastern Scotland, more widely they will reach 13 to 16C.

Through the afternoon showery rain will continue to affect the western half of the UK while it will stay mostly dry in the east. Some heavier bursts of rain could affect western Scotland and a few showers could develop over central parts of Ireland later too. Remaining dry, bright and breezy for Orkney and Shetland.

Have a good day!
Claire
