Temperatures will be rising to well above normal levels this week before perhaps turning cooler later in the week. High pressure gives way to low pressure around mid week as fronts bring in spells of rain to most areas and this will be heavy at times.

Wednesday 15/03/17
Very mild across Britain and windy across Scotland. Mostly cloudy with some patchy bits of rain here and there but mainly dry. Rain may be more persistent across western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Misty and murky in the west with hill fog. Rain persist in the north west in the night and turning colder there with gales in the far north of Scotland. Expect high temperatures of 10 to 16C.


Thursday 16/03/17
It continues very mild in the south but cooler across Scotland. Most areas will be more unsettled with splashes of rain and scattered showers. Windy overnight with an area of rain across the north and the west. Some snow to affect The Highlands. Highs of 6 to 15C.
 


Friday 17/03/17
Not as mild but temperatures remain just above normal across England and Wales. A windy day with gusts to 60 mph around Irish Sea coasts. Wet across Britain with spells of rain. This clears Scotland but will be heavy across England and Wales in the afternoon. Very windy overnight as another area of rain sweeps into Britain, this locally heavy. Highs of 6 to 12C.
 


Saturday 18/03/17
A mild and very windy day to come on Saturday. Outbreaks of moderate to heavy rain clear to showers but the rain may linger in the south of England. Showers across the hills of Scotland and northern England may be wintry. Very windy and colder overnight with showers in the north and west and rain near the south coast. Highs of 8 to 14C.
 


Sunday 19/03/17
Today temperatures are closer to normal with strong north west winds making it feel cold. A number of showers to affect the north and the west. Showers across the hills of Scotland, Wales and northern England may be wintry. Eastern areas should be chiefly dry with sunnier spells. Highs of 7 to 10C.

Monday 20/03/17
Very windy and feeling very chilly with a good deal of cloud and a number of showers. These will be heaviest in the north and west with snow on the hills in the north. Fewer showers are forecast for eastern areas. Expect highs of 5 to 9C.
