The first part of the week will be unsettled with rain but rather mild on the whole. High pressure develops to the north later in the week as strong north east winds bring temperatures down to below normal. Frosts then develop in the north with the south too windy.

Tuesday 21/03/17 Cooler and windy with gales for Scotland. Wintry showers to affect the northern hills with rain showers in the west. Fairly cloudy for most places with a few sunnier spells in the east. A cold night in the north with a frost. Expect high temperatures of 5 to 9C.
Wednesday 22/03/17 Temperatures are above normal across England and Wales today. Some rain and showers may affect Wales, northern England and northern Scotland, these wintry over the Highlands. Mainly dry by night with a frost in the north. Highs of 7 to 12C.
Thursday 23/03/17 A brisk north east wind develops bringing in much colder air with the south still mild. Expect a few well, scattered showers but largely dry. A mix of cloud and some sun. Cold with clear spells overnight and windy in the south. Frosty for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs of 6 to 12C.
Friday 24/03/17 Cold with temperatures below normal. Strong north east winds will make it feel even colder and spreads cloud in from the east after a sunny morning. A few rain and snow showers may affect North Sea coasts. Dry and cold by night with a sharp frost in the north. Very windy in the south with gales near the channel coast. Highs of 5 to 7C.
Saturday 25/03/17 Today temperatures are up a couple of degrees but still remain below normal. Staying windy across the south but it's looking dry and sunny across much of Britain. A frost is likely by night in the north. Highs of 8 to 10C.
Sunday 26/03/17 Breezy across the south west. A chilly start with a frost and some fog patches across the north. Overall a fair, dry day with the best of the sunshine towards the west. Expect highs of 8 to 11C.
