Morning Call - December 05, 2021
Best in west
Showers in east

Issued: 0530hrs Sunday 5th December 2021
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

A dry and sunny west, cloudy and showery east.

A mainly dry and bright, sunny morning further west, though rain, sleet and snow showers will affect mostly eastern counties of Scotland and England, some pushing more centrally across the country. Expect a brisk north-easterly wind across the southeast too.

In the afternoon, showers in the east should ease off but it will stay mainly cloudy. Best of the lasting sunshine across westernmost regions of the UK. Cloud building across Ireland and Northern Ireland.

A largely dry start to the night, although showers may continue down some eastern coastal regions. As the night progresses rain, preceded by sleet and snow in the north and over higher ground, will spread eastwards across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and into western parts of Wales and England. Winds will strengthen here too.
