Sunday 21/1/18
Fronts passing eastwards on Sunday taking rain with them. The rain may be heavy over western coasts and hills and could be preceded by some sleet and snow in northeast England and eastern Scotland. Milder weather will be reaching most places from the west. Plenty of mist and murk. Highs at 3 to 9C.

Monday 22/1/18
Heavier rain spreads east again on Monday and it becomes windy too as a shallow area of low pressure passes from west to east. Sleet and snow on hills. Brighter weather may follow from the west, although there will be heavy showers in Scotland and the west of England, Wales and Ireland. Highs at 4C in northern Scotland, 11C in southern England.

Tuesday 23/1/18
With low pressure to the west of Ireland on Tuesday a milder southwest flow is expected to develop. There will be cloud and rain in Ireland and western Scotland. Low cloud and drizzle may trouble western and southern coasts of England and Wales. Becoming brighter in more eastern areas. Highs at 6 to 10C.

Wednesday 24/1/18
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Wednesday. This pushes fronts eastwards taking cloud and rain with them, most of the rain to the west. Drier to the east and south, breezy here too. Highs at 6 to 11C.

Thursday 25/1/18
Low pressure close to Scotland on Thursday. This bringing unsettled conditions with rain in Scotland, turning to sleet on the hills. Further south it will be bright and breezy with a mix of sunshine and showers. Highs at 3C in northern Scotland, 8C in southern England.

Friday 26/1/18
A ridge of high pressure building through Ireland, England and Wales on Friday. This brings drier conditions with some bright or sunny spells. Cloud and drizzle could affect western Scotland. Highs at 4 to 11C.
