Monday 20/5/24
A mostly dry and sunny start to the week for most areas, with a little coastal mist and fog expected in places before it clears to give lengthy spells of sunshine. During the afternoon and evening a few showers may break out across southwest England, the Midlands and South Wales, but away from this expect plenty of sunshine and feeling pleasantly warm. Highs of 17C to 20C for many.

Tuesday 21/5/24
A dry and sunny start for most, before rain tracks eastwards across Northern Ireland during the afternoon, bringing some heavy bursts at times. The rain will then affect western Scotland into the evening. Once more heavy and possibly thundery showers develop across England, especially eastern parts. The best of the afternoon sunshine across southwest England, Wales and eastern Scotland. Highs of 16 to 19C for most, coolest in the rain in the north.

Wednesday 22/5/24
An unsettled day is expected as low pressure across the near continent pushes westwards, with some rain into eastern England through the afternoon. A further damp day in western Scotland with some light rain at times and staying generally cloudy. Possibly a little drier across Wales and southern England with a few sunny spells. Highs of 17 to 19C inland, 14 to 16C in the west.

Thursday 23/5/24
Some light rain or showers continues over eastern England, possibly pushing westwards through the day but fragmenting as it does so. A mostly dry day in northern parts as high pressure establishes here. Highs of 17 to 20C in central and eastern England, generally 13 to 16C elsewhere.

Friday 24/5/24
High pressure expected to build across many parts from the north, with a few morning showers in the south giving way to a dry and sunny afternoon for all. A warmer day with highs of 16 to 22C.

Saturday 25/5/24
A ridge of high pressure maintains mostly dry and fine conditions across the country. A warmer day with highs of 16 to 21C.
