Mixed and cooler, showers and rain, most in the southwest

A change back to more mixed conditions ahead this week. It will be warm through Sunday, but by Monday all areas will have noticed more unsettled weather with rain or showers for many. Those showers continue next week, some potentially heavy and thundery. However, Scotland could see fewer showers next week. Feeling cooler for all.

Monday 13/5/24
Lower pressure raking control of the weather through Monday. The low is likely to be off southwest England by midday. This then pushing a band of showery, possibly thundery rain northwards during the morning, mostly in northern England, Scotland and north Wa.es A further areas of rain, some heavy, then reaches southwest England by early afternoon, this then edging north to be over Wales and southern England by evening. Rain too in western and northern Scotland, some showers in northern England with a few thundery showers in Ireland. Highs at a cooler 15C in the southwest, 19C in eastern England.

Tuesday 14/5/24
Low pressure stays over the southwest of the British Isles on Wednesday. Another unsettled day with a mix of sunshine and showers. The showers heaviest and thundery in the southwest. More persistent rain could affect eastern Scotland and eastern England. Highs at 12 to 17C.


 

Wednesday 15/5/24
Low pressure over Ireland on Wednesday. A mix of sunny spells and showers. The showers could be heavy and thundery at times. More persistent rain could again affect eastern Scotland and eastern coasts of England. Highs at 12 to 15C.



 
 
 

Thursday 16/5/24
Low pressure remains through Thursday. Showers developing again, some heavy and thundery and most in the west and south. Brighter Scotland with sunny spells. Highs at 14 to 18C but possibly just 12C in the southwest.



 
 
 

Friday 17/5/24
Low pressure is in control again through Friday. A day of sunny spells and heavy showers. The showers could be torrential and thundery in the south. Scotland may see fewer showers. Highs at 15 to 19C.

Saturday 18/5/24
Low pressure may drift a little further east on Saturday. Another day of sunshine and showers, this time most of the showers in southern and eastern areas. Drier and brighter north and west. Highs at 12 to 16C.
