Warm days ahead, but then changing later in the weekend to windier, wetter, cooler weather

Fine weather to come in the next couple of days for many and feeling warm too. There will be changes taking place later in the weekend and into next week. The jet stream becomes stronger and that brings lower pressure with rain and showers. Winds are likely to be stronger and it will be cooler too.

Sunday 22/09/19
An occluded front passes northeast across the British Isles on Sunday taking cloud and rain with it. Brighter weather follows into Ireland and the west of the UK, together with a scattered showers over western coasts. High temperatures at 23 or 24C in the east, 16 or 17C in the west.

Monday 23/09/19
A deep area of low pressure is centred west of Ireland on Monday. This brings wind and rain into Ireland and the southwest UK. Brighter for Scotland and in the east at first but rain arriving here later. Showers follow into Ireland, some of them heavy. Highs at 15 to 17C in many areas, 21C in East Anglia.
 

Tuesday 24/09/19
Further rain passing eastwards through the country with sunshine and showers following from the southwest. The showers group into heavier periods of rain with a risk of hail and thunder in Ireland and western Scotland. Gales in the west too. Highs at 13 to 18C.
 

Wednesday 25/09/19
Low pressure continues to bring strong winds, outbreaks of rain and showers. The showers could be heavy, especially in the north and east. High temperatures at 12 to 18C.

Thursday 26/09/19
Low pressure west Scotland brings cloud and rain into western Ireland and western Scotland. Some drizzle over western and southern coasts of England and Wales. Getting brighter from the west later with some bright or sunny spells developing. Staying windy. Highs at 13 to 19C.

Friday 27/09/19
Low pressure stays close by bringing further outbreaks of rain for Ireland and western and southern parts of the UK. Brighter to the north and east but showers here at times. High temperatures at 12 to 19C.
