A damp day with rain affecting many areas as fronts sweep across the country with brisk westerly winds. Wettest across western regions, especially over the hills. Southeastern parts drier, although the odd patch of rain possible. Rain clearing from most areas through the afternoon and evening. Staying showery in western Scotland much of the day. Best of the brightness to the east. Top temperatures at 13 to 20C, coolest in the northwest, warmest southeast.
Windy with outbreaks of rain for northern parts of Britain and Ireland as low pressure passes northern Scotland. Gales are possible for a time. A spell of rain for northern regions, clearing to leave showers. Cloudy but mostly dry to the south and east. The best of any sunshine to the southeast. Highs at 14 to 17C northwest, up to a humid 21C in the southeast.
High pressure starts to build from the southwest. A fresh west to northwest breeze, with showers for western Scotland. A weakening front slips southeastward with cloud and spots of rain, but clearing to give sunny spells. Highs at 13 to 20C, warmest southern England.
Higher pressure builds across southern Britain. This brings a mostly bright and dry day, although a southwest breeze brings drizzly rain for western Scotland. Cloudy too for northern England. Sunnier in the east. Highs 15 to 21C.
Much of the country should remain settled with any early fog dispersing to give sunshine and broken cloud. Cloudier with a chance of drizzle for northwest Scotland with a southwest breeze. Starting chilly rurally. Highs 17 to 22C.
High pressure moving slowly eastwards opens the door to a warm southerly airflow. A lot of sunshine, once any early fog clears. A cool start, but reaching highs of 19 to 23C by afternoon.
