Friday
Low pressure is going to be crossing southern Ireland, Wales and England on Friday. A murky start in many central and eastern areas, but rain in southern Ireland and the west of Wales and southwest England will be spreading northwards and eastwards, turning heavier into the afternoon. A risk of flooding in western England and Wales later. Windy in Scotland with low pressure to the north. Frequent showers, some heavy in northern and western Scotland. Highs at 12 to 16C for central and southern England and the southern half of Wales; just 5 to 8C for the rest of England and Wales, Ireland, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Friday Night
Rain continues for much of Ireland, Wales and the northern half of England through the night from Friday into Saturday, this falling as snow over higher ground. Drier over southeastern England and the north of Scotland though there may be some showers to the west. A breezy night for the southeast of England and the far north of Scotland. Overnight lows at 0 to 3C to the north and west, 12 to 14C to the southeast.

Saturday
Rain clears southern England on Saturday, although this may take some time. Low pressure to the north of Scotland brings a windy day in northern parts of the UK; gales in northern Scotland. Frequent showers in northern and western Scotland, some of them heavy. Scattered showers for western parts of Ireland, Wales and England. Drier elsewhere with the best of any sunshine in the east. Highs at 5 to 7C for much of Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, northern England and north Wales; 14 to 16C for the far southeast of Wales and central and southern England.

Sunday
High pressure builds west of Ireland on Sunday. Despite it being cold many places should be bright and dry with good spells of sunshine. For northern Scotland there will be some showers, these wintry on hills in Scotland. The best sunshine and driest weather over central areas. Highs at 7 to 11C.
