Rain in central and eastern areas, birghter and colder west and north, gales in Scotland
Periods of rain will develop across eastern England during this morning. This will become more persistent as the morning progresses. Outbreaks of rain affecting northern England and parts of Wales as well Southwest England. Windy in Scotland with the best sunshine in the east, but some showers in the west, this heavy at times. Bright spells and showers affecting Ireland.
This afternoon see is more rain in central and eastern parts of England, some of it heavy at times. Brighter weather to the west and north with sunny spells. Further showers and strong winds for western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Feeling increasingly cold across many northern and western areas of the country. Rain clears east this evening and then the night is dry for many. Showers continue in western Scotland where there will also be severe gales. Clear skies in other areas. A cold night ahead.
