A cloudy morning for Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England with outbreaks of rain, this clearing in the afternoon with some brightness developing. Elsewhere the day will be mostly dry with some sunny spells, the best of these over southern England. Expect a few showers to develop through the afternoon. Top temperatures at 14-15C over north and west, but 16-17C elsewhere.

Any remaining showers will clear through the evening with dry conditions following for most areas. Thick cloud will edge over southwestern Ireland overnight along some light rain and freshening winds. Minimum temperatures at 7-9C over most parts.
