Alexi: Snow then sleet and rain is pushing southwards across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland this morning and will move into northern England late morning and into the afternoon. Elsewhere, showers will continue down western coasts, wintry in places. Drier elsewhere.

A cold night for most to come. Clear spells across much of England and Wales but where the cloud, rain and sleet remains to the north of England temperatures wont get as cold here. Rain will eventually clear to the southeast of Ireland and wintry showers continue for northern Scotland.

Alexi: Snow in the north is now affecting The Borders region and pushing into northern areas of England with rain on the back edge of it. Showers pushing down Northern Ireland and showers, these wintry, flowing on a continuous feed down western coasts still. Dry elsewhere with good amounts of sunshine.

Alexi: Good morning, our current north to north-westerly wind today will bring wintry showers to northern areas and mainly western coasts. A separate wave will also bring mostly rain but some sleet and snow over higher ground to southern Ireland, south wales and southwest England through the day.

Alexi: Wintry showers continuing along northern and down western coasts tonight. A cold night with a widespread frost forecast with an ice risk tomorrow.

Alexi: It is turning into a beautiful day for many across the northern half of the country, while the southern half is seeing more in the way of cloud and of course rain affecting the southwest. Conditions brightening up across northern and central England this afternoon.

Claire: The area of rain, sleet and snow currently affecting east Wales and the West Midlands continues to move south this afternoon, easing as it goes. Wintry showers for coasts and hills elsewhere across the region.

Claire: Another cold night to come with overnight lows around or below freezing for most. A widespread frost is expected as well as ice patches. Temperatures could drop to -10C or colder in sheltered spots in the Scottish Highlands.

Claire: It was a chilly one last night with many of you across Britain waking up to sub-zero temperatures. Temperatures are on the rise and most areas will see highs of 3 to 6C today.

Claire: The latest radar imagery shows areas of sleet and snow continuing over western Scotland, east Wales and the south West Midlands. Rain affecting Northern Ireland and eastern Ireland with some showers around to the east of the UK.

Claire: A cold start away from western coasts this morning with northerly gales for Ireland and the far west of the UK. Wintry showers affect coastal areas with some sleet and snow affecting parts of Wales and western England too.

Claire: Sub-zero temperatures over much of Scotland, northern and western England and central and eastern Wales will bring a widespread frost and ice patches here tonight.

Alexi: Some heavy sleet and snow showers in the north today. Plenty of dry and bright conditions to be had across eastern and southern areas. Rain has now largely cleared the far southeast.

Alexi: A cold night tonight with a frost expected into tomorrow morning. A mix of rain, sleet and snow expected in the north and west while staying mainly dry further east.

Alexi: Rain will clear the southeast corner of England this morning with dry conditions behind. Rain, sleet and snow showers across western parts with brighter and drier conditions further east today.

Alexi: A wet night ahead as a cold front sinks south down the country. Hefty winds too so be safe while Storm Bella passes through.

Alexi: Windy is the theme for today. High winds will become widespread across the country through the afternoon with gusts in excess of 50-60mph in exposed places. Gusts are already creeping up to 40-50+mph for some.

Garry: Merry Christmas! It's a frosty morning out there, but fair and bright for many places today. Winds will increase across Scotland, and some rain preceded by snow flurries will move into the West Highlands.

Simon: A colder morning for Christmas Eve for many, Some wintry showers around western northern and eastern coasts and hills, these falling as snow. Sunshine for many through today.

Simon: Increasingly wet through Wales, the Midlands and East Anglia this afternoon. Some bits of snow over the tops of the Pennines and Welsh hills too, perhaps even over high ground of central England later. Colder Scotland, best sunshine here.

The far south of England and Wales will be mild and cloudy, some drizzle, but also rain I the southwest and Southern Ireland becoming more persistent. Simon: Colder weather is on it's way for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. A brief rise in temperatures for Boxing Day, but then the cold returns Sunday (as shown in this graph. Sleet and snow is possible too. We will keep you informed.

Claire: Unseasonably mild temperatures over southern parts of England and Wales at the start of the week but, across the country, temperatures take a tumble as we head towards Christmas.

Alexi: Rain will spread across much of Scotland tonight with winds strengthening along the coasts. Snow is likely to fall over the higher ground mainly. Largely dry elsewhere but with showers along western coasts and in the southeast of England.

Alexi: Good morning, it was a cold night last night with many places dipping below zero so watch out for ice first thing. Dry for many today but north and east Scotland should expect rain later on.

Alexi: There is still quite a lot of fog about in the south and west. Some places may hold on to it through the afternoon too. Cloud now spilling in from the east with outbreaks of rain pushing in to north- eastern parts of the UK.

Alexi: What's instore for us today, well there will be rather a lot of cloud about with the far west seeing the best of any sunshine. Showers will be rather pesky too, particularly so in the east. Light rain across central areas should largely fizzle out although some bits and pieces will stick around all day long.

Alexi: Good morning, there is quite a lot of weather going on currently and winds are pretty hefty too in the west this morning. Some more exposed places in the southwest of England, Wales and across Ireland are reaching and exceeding 50mph gusts.

Alexi: Still with brisk winds about across Ireland and the southwest of England this afternoon. Showers or longer spells of rain still circulating around the area of low pressure now over the English Channel. Heavy bursts of rain at times across southern Scotland and northern England.

Alexi: The filling area of low pressure to the south of England continues to track towards France swirling showers around the peripheral of the low centre. Tonight expect showers to continue in the east but also across the far southeast of England as well as northern Scotland. Largely dry for many.

Claire: We have two main areas of rain, sleet and snow circulating around an area of low pressure over eastern England this afternoon - these affecting most areas with the exception of the south of England where it will tend to be drier.

Claire: A thick blanket of cloud over the UK and Ireland tonight will largely keep temperatures above freezing. Where clearer spots develop, temperatures will drop and frost and ice will be quick to form.
