Higher pressure gradually moves in more across the UK and Ireland through January while temperatures slide away too making fog and frost more common from mid month onwards.
*2/1/23 - 8/1/23* High pressure ridges in more from the near continent this week. Lower pressure still out in the North Atlantic. Still a mixed and changeable weather week. Perhaps less wet through southern and eastern areas. Mild in south though generally cooler in the north.
*9/1/23 - 15/1/23* Weak high pressure across the country. A more or less westerly wind direction will bring some rain at times. Temperatures steady and around average.
*16/1/23 - 22/1/23* High pressure ridges in across the country this week. A predominantly dry week for most. Mist and fog could be common. A cooler week with the increased risk of overnight frosts.
*26/12/22 - 2/1/23* High pressure again dominant. Dry and settled. Freezing fog common with widespread overnight frosts. A chillier week still.
