Showers and rain central and northern Europe, hot Mediterranean


Tuesday
A slow-moving area of rain continues to affect Portugal and western Spain. Hot and dry for eastern Spain, the Balearics and southern France. Staying hot and sunny through Italy, the Balkans, Greece and Turkey, rare afternoon showers.
Rain for northern France and Belgium, heavy for a time, exending into the Netherlands and northern Germany. Southern Germany, Czechia and the Alps mostly dry and warm, chance of a shower by afternoon for Switzerland. Risk of an afternoon thunderstorm in central Poland.
Low pressure over Scandinavia brings areas of rain and showers for Norway and Sweden, risk of heavy rain moving north across Finland. Drier for Denmark and southern Sweden, quite breezy here.


Wednesday
Heavy and thundery showers affecting much of Spain and Portugal on Wednesday. Scattered showers in eastern Spain and the Balearics, but mostly hot and fair here. More sunshine to come across Italy and staying dry. Sunny and Hot for Greece and Turkey, although a thundery showers could develop in central Turkey.
Further heavy thunderstorms in central and southern France but dry in the north. Fair for the Low Countries and northern Germany with sunshine here. Rain in central Poland and central Germany. Hungary will be dry with good spells of sunshine. Fair for Austria with more sunshine here. Heavy showers in Switzerland.
Fair and dry in Denmark with long spells of sunshine. Some showers in the Baltic States. Some heavy showers to come through Finland. Scattered showers in central Sweden otherwise fair. Rain and strong winds in western Norway.
