Rain, heavy at times, developing on Wednesday morning becomes heavier and more widespread during the afternoon before clearing northeastwards during Wednesday night.Bus and train services will probably be affected with journey times taking longer whilst spray and flooding on roads may also affect some journeys. Flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely.

Chief Forecaster

A persistent spell of rain, accompanied by strong to gale force winds, will develop during Wednesday morning. Some of this rain will be heavy, especially over Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and Exmoor. Here 20-30 mm rain will build up over the course of 12 to 18 hours and in a few places there is a chance of close to 40 mm rain.
