Warning

Snow showers and icy stretches are likely to affect some roads and pavements.Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services. In addition some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are possible.

Chief Forecaster

Showery rain, sleet and snow will spread east across central and northern Scotland at first this morning. Most of the snow will fall on ground above 200 m where 2-5 cm is likely with smaller amounts across lower ground. Rain, sleet or wet snow falling on frozen surfaces will also bring a risk of ice.This warning has been updated to extend the area further south.
