Scattered showers then turning wetter England and Wales into the weekend

Scattered showers over the coming days in a slack pressure flow. There will be some sunny spells around too. Thicker cloud and periods of rain into the weekend in much of England and Wales, this persisting into next week. Scotland probably stays drier overall.

Thursday 7/5/26
High pressure off eastern areas of the British Isles on Thursday. This brings mostly dry weather to eastern areas with some spells of sunshine but also broken cloud. Western parts will be bright to start but cloud and some showers developing, possibly turning thundery in Wales and western Scotland. Further showrers developing in western and southern Ireland. Highs at 13 to 16C.

Friday 8/5/26
Low pressure over the British Isles on Friday. Rain affecting parts of southern and eastern Scotland and Ireland. Further rain or showers may affect eastern England. Cloudy in other areas, only brief spells of sunshine. Highs at 10C in western Scotland, 17C in England and eastern Wales.
 

Saturday 9/5/26
Lower pressure south of the British Isles on Saturday. Broken cloud and a few bright spells in the morning. Some showers forming in the afternoon, mainly in northern England, Scotland and Wales. Increasing cloud in the south. Highs at 11 to 15C.



 
 
 

Sunday 10/5/26
Low pressure stays to the south with high pressure west of Scotland. A front may bring rain, some of it heavy to central and southern England and Wales. Scattered showers in northeast Scotland. Dry for most, plenty of cloud although some sunshine in the north and west of Scotland. A strong northeast wind and highs at 10 to 14C.


 

Monday 11/5/26
High pressure over Scotland with low pressure south on Monday. Cloud and outbreaks of rain for much of England and Wales. Scotland will be drier with some bright or sunny spells. Highs at 18C in southern England, more widely 11 to 15C.

Tuesday 12/5/26
More rain in England and Wales on Tuesday, some of it heavy and thundery. Scotland and Ireland will be drier and brighter, some brighter spells in the west. Highs at 12 to 17C.
