Cooling and often wet for the weekend, staying mixed into next week
Starting from Friday a series of fronts will be affecting UK, bringing mixed, often wet period with cooler temperatures and in the west only occasional sun. Some more brighter spells in the east. Turning fresher too with stronger winds.

Friday 2/8/24 Low pressure west of Scotland on Friday sends a front toward the British Isles. This brings rain to Ireland for most of the day and in much of the west of the UK in the afternoon or evening hours. Eastern and central areas of England shall stay dry. Strong winds will blow over Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Windy and gusty also in the second half of the day toward the east. Highs at 28C in East Anglia, turning cooler in the west at 18C.
Saturday 3/8/24 Low pressure stays in the west, the front continues its way toward the east on Saturday. This brings rain in England, particularly in the east. Another occluded front moving in from the west, making western Scotland and Ireland wet again. Elsewhere it will be bright and fresher with sunny spells and a scattering of showers along the western coast. Still windy widely, less gusty than on Friday. Temperatures at 17 to 21C widely, but still to 24C in the southeast.
Sunday 4/8/24 The area of low pressure remains through Sunday. Wet for much of Ireland and western Scotland, with the rain slowly spreading east through the afternoon. England, Wales and much of eastern Scotland should stay dry. Strong winds in Ireland and Scotland. Highs at 16 to 24C.
Monday 5/8/24 Low pressure remains northwest of Scotland on Monday. This is set to bring mixed weather with heavy rain affecting many areas. Least persistent rain across southeast England, some places dry here. Winds may be very strong across whole UK. Highs at 17 to 26C.
Tuesday 6/8/24 The area of low pressure closes toward Scotland on Tuesday. Another mixed day of weather. Sunshine and heavy showers, most in the north and west. Easing wind in England, still gusty in the west. Cooler for most with highs at 16 to 24C.
Wednesday 7/8/24 Low passing across Scotland makes Wednesday wet in Scotland and Northern Ireland, possibly affecting norhtern England and Wales. Most likely dry for the south. Highs 15C in Scotland and Ireland to 22C in England.
