Strong gales at times

Overall much of this week will be unsettled as low pressure dominates and frontal systems come in from the west. The rain will be heavy at times but will be lighter across southern and eastern areas of England. The winds will be a feature of the weather this week with gale to severe gales at times. Temperatures will generally above normal but a change to colder conditions are expected late in the week.

Tuesday 08/12/15
Windy with a good deal of cloud and scattered showers in the north and west, these wintry over the Highlands. Some breaks may give sunnier spells to central and eastern Britain. Expect maximum temperatures of 7 to 13C.


Wednesday 09/12/15
Gales are possible across Northern Ireland with severe gales for Scotland along with rain. Much of England and Wales should be dry with sunnier spells where it will be a bit cooler. Expect maximum temperatures of 9 to 11C.

 
 
 


Thursday 10/12/15
Outbreaks of rain clear northern Britain as it turns colder. A few wintry showers for the Highlands to follow. Damp across England and Wales for much of the day. A frost possible across Scotland overnight. Highs of 6 to 11C.

 
 
 


Friday 11/12/15
With winds from the west north west, it looks colder as temperatures fall back to near normal in the south to below normal in the north. Rain across England and Wales gradually clears from the west, largely dry in the north as colder air moves southward. Light winds and clear skies produces a widespread frost overnight. Expect maximum temperatures of 4 to 9C.
 


Saturday 12/12/15
It appears quite cold with below normal temperatures. A frosty start to the day. With high pressure building in from the west, much of the country may be dry with long sunny spells. Frost develops again overnight. Expect maximum temperatures of 3 to 7C.

Sunday 13/12/15
It continues fine and dry across much of the country with good sunny spells after a cold, frosty start. Rain may reach western areas in the night. Expect maximum temperatures of 3 to 6C.
