Wet again and very mild

The unsettled conditions are set to continue during this week. Low pressure and fronts will be passing eastwards taking cloud and rain with them. It will be very mild for most. There are some hints of the rain becoming heavier later into the weekend and early next week, perhaps leading to some local flooding problems in the west. We will keep you updated.

Friday 18/12/15
A week ridge of high pressure building through the country on Friday bringing a fresh day. The best of any brightness will be through more eastern areas, although some rain arriving in western Scotland and Ireland later. Temperatures rising to between 9 and 13°C.

Saturday 19/12/15
Low pressure again pushes fronts eastwards through the country on Saturday. Cloudy and wet day across much of western Scotland and Ireland, with some rain affecting Northwest England and the north and west of Wales too. Rather cloudy across more eastern and southern areas with the chance of some drizzle here overall drier. A very mild day at 10 to 15°C.


 

Sunday 20/12/15
Rain is expected clear east through Sunday with brighter skies and some showers following from the west. The heaviest and most frequent of the showers in northern and western Scotland as well as Northern Ireland where some could merge into longer spells of rain. Temperatures rising to between 7 and 13°C.
 

Monday 21/12/15
Monday may bring some very windy weather across most of the UK and Ireland. Low-pressure to the north and high pressure to the south will drive heavy rain across Scotland, Ireland, Northwest England, Wales and Southwest England. The rain tending to be lighter and more patchy east and south. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland, 14C in southern England.



Tuesday 22/12/15
Tuesday could be a wet day across much of Ireland, Wales and England as a front passes east. Scotland may be cooler and cloudy with a few showers. Mild in the far southeast at 14°C degrees Celsius but cooler in northern Scotland at 5°C.

Wednesday 23/12/15
The unsettled theme continues with low pressure bringing cloud and rain in from the west of Wednesday The rain could be heavy at times, and it may become windy too. Highs at 8 to 14C.
