Cooler next week

Continuing hot through the weekend with a greater risk of thundery, heavy showers for many too. Next week sees a fresher flow gradually move in and the weather stays mixed.

Monday is a rather cloudy and wet day for many in the north and west with rain and or showers about. Further south, southeast and east should stay largely dry and fine with sunny spells and continue very warm. Highs at 29C in East Anglia, 21C in Ireland and 18C in Scotland.

Tuesday 12/9/23
Fresher conditions for more on Tuesday as fronts clear eastwards as higher pressure looks to build back in from the west. Highs at 16 to 23C for most, though still hot at 26C in SE England.

Wednesday 13/9/23
A cool start in the north on Wednesday. A fair day for most with sunshine after any initial mist and fog. Highs at 15 to 22C.

Thursday 14/9/23
Another chilly start in the north on Thursday. Mostly dry weather again today though the risk of some showers about. Longer spells of rain expected to push in across NW Scotland later. Highs at 15 to 22C.

Friday 15/9/23
Friday sees largely dry weather with the best of the sunshine further east and southeast where temperatures could get warm again here. Cloud thickens in the west with rain moving in across Ireland and Northern Ireland later. Highs at 16 to 25C.

Saturday 16/9/23
A warm day again in the south and southeast where it will be largely dry though risk of heavy showers later here. Elsewhere sees largely dry weather but with more cloud and rain in the far west. Highs at 17 to 26C for most though in the upper 20s across southeastern areas.
