Becoming warmer and more settled although some showers at first and Saturday

Showers on Wednesday but then higher pressure building to the east, turning the wind flow more southerly and bringing some warmer air into the British isles. Not every day will be warm, for example Saturday turns cooler for a time as thundery rain clears east. Then higher pressure builds over the country next week introducing drier weather for many and warm conditions.

Friday 22/5/26
High pressure east of the UK on Friday. A front in Scotland bringing rain in the west. Low cloud and drizzle western and southern Ireland. Dry and warm England and Wales although always a threat of low cloud and drizzle over western coasts. Eastern parts of England seeing the best sunshine. In the afternoon cloud will thicken in the southwest with rain spreading to southwest England in the evening. Highs at 17C western Scotland, 19C in Ireland, 23 to 26C much of England and Wales.

Saturday 23/5/26
An area of thundery rain through England and Wales on Saturday morning, this moving east to be over East Anglia and southeast England in the early afternoon. Higher pressure then building from the west and this is going to be bringing drier, brighter weather across Ireland and western areas of the British isles throughout the day, the drier weather reaching all in the afternoon. Highs at 19 to 22C for most, 25C in the southeast.

Sunday 24/5/26
High pressure builds on Sunday. Fair for most with some early morning mist and fog patches. Sunshine developing. Cloud and some rain may affect the far north of Scotland courtesy of a warm front passing close by. Highs at 17 to 24C.



 
 
 

Monday 25/5/26
High pressure remains over the country on Monday. The risk of some low cloud over eastern coasts at first. For most it will be dry and fair with lots of sunshine, best in the west. Low cloud and drizzle may affect the far northwest of Scotland too. Highs at 20 to 25C.


 

Tuesday 26/5/26
High pressure may be over Scotland on Tuesday. Low cloud over eastern coasts of England and Scotland at first, this tending to brea Then sunny spells developing for all. Highs at 18C on eastern coasts, mainly 20 to 27C.

Wednesday 27/5/26
High pressure east of the country on Wednesday. Broken cloud and some sunny spells as well as feeling very warm. A risk of thundery showers in western and southern Ireland. Highs at 19 to 25C.
