Warm days ahead, but then changing later in the weekend to windier, wetter, cooler weather

Fine weather to come in the next few days for many and feeling warm too. There will be changes taking place later in the weekend and into next week. The jet stream becomes stronger and that brings lower pressure with rain and showers. Winds are likely to be stronger and it will be cooler too.

Saturday 21/9/19
High pressure remains to the east with low pressure to the west. The low brings fronts and spots of rain in Ireland, west Wales and southwest England. More persistent rain in western Ireland. Dry with good spells of sunshine in eastern parts of Scotland and England. A brisk southeast wind for all. Highs at 26C in the southeast, 21C in Ireland and northern Scotland.

Sunday 22/9/19
An occluded front passes east on Sunday taking cloud and rain with it. Brighter weather follows into Ireland and the west of the UK, together with a scattered showers on western coasts. Highs at 22C in the east, 17C in the west.

 
 
 

Monday 23/9/19
A deep are of low pressure west of Ireland on Monday. This brings wind and rain into Ireland and the western UK. Brighter in the east at first but rain here later. Showers follow into Ireland, some heavy. Highs at 15 to 17C in many areas, 21C in East Anglia.

 
 
 

Tuesday 24/9/19
Further rain passing eastwards through the country with sunshine and showers following from the west. The showers group into heavier periods of rain with a risk of hail and thunder in Ireland and western Scotland. Gales in the west too. Highs at 12 to 16C.

Wednesday 25/9/19
Low pressure continues to be bringing strong winds, rain and showers. The showers could be heavy, especially in the north and west. Highs at 12 to 17C.

Thursday 26/9/19
Low pressure west Scotland bringing cloud and rain into western Ireland and western Scotland. Some drizzle over western and southern coasts of England and Wales. Getting brighter in the east with some bright or sunny spells developing. Staying windy. Highs at 13 to 16C.
